ABC Foundation in partnership with Rotary Club Onireke screens 200 women for cervical cancer.

To mark the Foundation’s 3rd year anniversary, on Wednesday, 28th September 2016, the Foundation, sponsored by Rotary Club Onireke Axis carried out a VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) screening for 200 women at Oniyanrin Primary Health Care Centre.

Present at the outreach was the Chairman, Ibadan North West LGA, Honourable Wasiu Olatunbosun, the President and members of Rotary Club, Medical practitioners of Oniyanrin PHC as well as Nurses and Nursing Assistants of the eleven ABC medical Foundation clinics.

To commence the event, Hon. Olatunbosun delivered a speech on Ìlera Loró while one of the Foundation’s Doctors, Dr. Olusola Oriniowo lectured on the importance of regular checkups as well as the importance of the screening. He mentioned that cervical cancer is a major challenge in Nigeria and has become the second most common cancer found in women.

VIA has proven to be one effective and viable method of screening which can save lives from cervical cancer.
